Innovation Interns

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM – SUMMER 2025

The Summer 2025 Innovation Internship Program at the Berkshire Innovation Center (BIC) will be a project-based experience intended to introduce college students to advanced manufacturing tools, design methodologies, and automation. Inclusive in the internship experience will be opportunities to meet with local employers to better understand real-world applications of engineering skillsets, methods, design & support. 

Interns will:

Design parts and components using a rapid design iteration methodology

Develop effective budgets to support HW development projects

Integrate effective project management skills into each unique initiative

Learn how robotics and automation will impact industry in the coming years

Explore the fundamentals of additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D printing 

Understand AM applications and benefits in industry

Learn CAD skills specific to digital fabrication

Build, upgrade, and/or diagnose 3D printers

Consult with BIC members to evaluate engineering challenges of member organizations

This paid internship will span ten weeks from June 2nd to August 15th, allowing for one week of unpaid vacation.

To be considered for this project, applicants will need to submit the following:

1.

An up-to-date resume

2.

Two professional references

3.

A portfolio showcasing examples of your design and/or fabrication work in past projects

4.

A proposal for a personal project that you'd like to pursue if given access to BIC resources

5.

A brief description of your interests and career ambitions in a STEM field
